What We're All About

Two Dollar Eats started with a simple goal: feed our family well without overspending.

A few years ago, we realized we were spending $700–$1,000 a month on food for just two adults. That worked out to $4–$5.50 per person per meal. Seeing those numbers was a wake-up call.

Inspired by the financial independence movement and the idea of $2 per person per meal, we decided to treat our grocery budget like a challenge instead of a burden. We cut the excess, simplified our ingredients, and focused on meals that were affordable, filling, and actually delicious.

Now we consistently average around $2 per person per meal — and we eat better than ever.

This site exists to help you do the same. Whether you’re saving for retirement, building breathing room in your monthly budget, or simply trying to lower grocery costs without sacrificing flavor, you’re in the right place.

No paywalls. No pressure. No long blog posts. Just practical recipes that work.
