Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup Flour
  • 1.25 cup Oats
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • .75 cup Butter
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • .5 tsp Salt
  • 1 21 Ounce Can Cherry Pie Filling
  • 2 oz Walnuts

Method

  1. Mix the Ingredients: Preheat the oven to 350°. In a mixing bowl stir together the flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Melt the butter and mix with the other ingredients until well combined.
  2. Assemble the Dessert: In an 8×8 baking dish press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of the pan using your hands or the bottom of a cup forming a solid base. Pour the cherry pie filling over the top and spread evenly. Finally, sprinkle the remaining oat mixture as well as the chopped walnuts over the top.
  3. Bake and Serve: Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove and let cool for 15-20 minutes before serving warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
